Canine Good Citizen

From AKC: “Canine Good Citizen is a 10-Skill Test that teaches good manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners.

By training in CGC, you and your dog will deepen your bond and become a more connected team. Not only will you and your dog learn the basics of dog training and master skills like sit, down, and stay, but your dog will become a welcomed community member when out in public.

The CGC title is a prerequisite for many therapy dog certifications, as well as a great introduction to more advanced dog sports & activities.”

Jewel is the trainer for this class and will help you prepare to pass the 10 skill test and lay a solid foundation for a well behaved dog in public. This class serves as a prerequisite for more advanced classes.

This class is held in 4 class sessions at a time with a recommendation of 8 classes to get the full curriculum. This class is a rolling enrollment which means that you typically can start as soon as we have an open seat in the class. This class can be repeated until the test can be passed. Testing will occur every 2-3 months.
